Research Associates’ Council of the TUM

Who are we?

The Research Associates’ Council (German: Konvent wissenschafftlicher Mitarbeiter: KwM) of the TUM finds it's challange in the informing and the forming of opinion of staff members at TUM. Therefore, the KwM is representing the Research Associates at TUM in the faculty councils, committees and boards at the TUM as well as supraregional. The existance of the KwM is founded in §23 of the basic order of the TUM. Especially by proposing candidates to election, the KwM is supporting all appropriate boards. The elected spokespersons of the KwM represent it's aims in public and university.

What do we do?

Relevant issues as "teaching", "human equality", "ethical acting in science" or "science management" are covered by the "KwM Ressorts". Focussing on these issues, we create points of interacting between groups of different interests, connect these groups and give a stage of discussion.

The Research Associates’ Council meets regularly during lecture period, where all interested Associates of TUM are kindly invited to. Advertisements and transcript of the meetings as well as our monthly newsletter are published, using an email list. Please sign up for the mail list by writing an email to konvent@tum.de. In the same way you can get access to our wiki https://wiki.tum.de/display/kwm/

What else do we do?

The well-established program for the education of students, PhD students or habilitating persons called PROLEHRE has been initiated by the KwM.
